The PADI Scuba Diver upgrade course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you’re short on time but want to become an open water diver from your current certification of scuba diver, the PADI Scuba Diver upgrade is the only way ̶ particularly if you expect to go scuba diving with a buddy and not a PADI professional.

• Get qualified to dive with your open water buddy to a maximum depth of 18 mtrs
• This is a varied mix of knowledge, skills development and underwater exploration that's perfect if you're short of time but want an official certification.

The PADI Scuba Diver upgrade course consists of three main phases. The same as your scuba diver course but you'll just finish the required learning with the materials you already should have. The first is Knowledge Development, so you understand the basic principles of scuba diving. This covers the last two of five sections of the Open Water Diver course. The second is the remaining two Confined Water Dives of five dives of the Open Water Diver course. Finally, you'll undertaken your final two Open Water Dives, where you'll use your skills and explore.
